Decatur Community Players offers various summer camps during June and July. Summer camp registration is now open. Any other camps or workshops are announced on our website and Facebook page as they become available.
Camps will be held at Yellow Mat Yoga, 409 Mead Rd #4, Decatur, GA 30030.

- Camps are daily from 9 am – 4 pm, Mon-Fri and open to ages 5 – 17, unless otherwise noted. There is no before or after care available. Drop-off opens at 8:45.
- Campers need to bring a sack lunch, water bottle and snack every day.
- It’s important that campers are here every day and arrive on time. If a child needs to miss a class or will be late, please let us know in advance via phone or text.
- If a child misses a day of camp, tuition will not be prorated.
- Camp tuition is non-refundable, however, a credit in the amount of the tuition can be used towards a different week of camp or an after school program.

- June 10 – June 14: Voice Camp
If you want to sing your heart out, this is the camp for you! Voice Camp offers a fun and specialized training experience to aspiring young singers. Opportunities to listen to and perform to each other are an integral part of the camp.
- June 17 – June 21 – “Once on this Island. Jr” – for ages 10 and up
This is one of our musical in a week camps. In one week, campers will create sets and props, assemble costumes, learn great songs and choreography, and play wonderful characters. On the last day of camp there is a performance for family and friends. This week is for ages 11 and up.
Once on This Island JR. is a highly original theatrical adaptation of Hans Christian Andersen’s popular fairy tale, The Little Mermaid. Through almost non-stop song and dance, it tells the story of Ti Moune, a peasant girl who rescues and falls in love with Daniel, a wealthy boy from the other side of her island. When Daniel is returned to his people, the fantastical gods who rule the island guide Ti Moune on a quest that will test the strength of her love against the powerful forces of prejudice, hatred and even death.
- June 24 – June 28 – “Shrek the Musical, Jr.” – for ages 5-12

Shrek The Musical JR. is based on the Oscar-winning DreamWorks Animation film and fantastic Broadway musical. It’s a “big bright beautiful world” as everyone’s favorite ogre, Shrek, finds his swamp invaded by banished fairytale misfits who have been cast off by Lord Farquaad, a tiny terror with big ambitions. When Shrek sets off with a wisecracking donkey to confront Farquaad, he’s handed a task – if he rescues feisty princess Fiona, his swamp will be righted. Shrek tries to win Fiona’s love and vanquish Lord Farquaad, but a fairytale wouldn’t be complete without a few twists and turns along the way.
- July 8 – July 12 – Create Your Own Musical
Want to write your own musical? Want to design costumes or choreography? Ever wonder what it takes to put the whole thing together? Join us for a week of taking your favorite songs – pop, rock, broadway songs, etc. – and working together as a group to create a 30 minute musical. Learn blocking, costuming, set design and script writing. Embrace the originality of who you are. Great for team building! At the end of the week, students bring their play to life in a performance for family and friends.
- July 22 – July 26 – “Peter Pan, Jr”

Peter Pan is one of the most beloved and frequently performed family favorites of all time. Peter and his mischievous fairy sidekick, Tinkerbell, visit the nursery of the Darling children late one night and, with a sprinkle of pixie dust, begin a magical journey across the stars that none of them will ever forget. They come face to face with a ticking crocodile, a fierce Indian tribe, a band of bungling pirates and, of course, the villainous Captain Hook.
